The first week with Puppets at Beech Court

The first weeks programme was arranged with a degree of flexibility to enable me to respond to the residents and staff. The positive and enthusiastic response to me and the puppets was wonderful.  Some residents generated responses and gave the rewarding ‘Now Moments’ I was sure people with dementia were able to share. The proof of this is in the many photos.

We established a routine of pursuing quieter  ‘Now Moments’, working 1-2-1 with residents in the morning.

Followed by the Conductor puppet – who became known as Ken, leading a Sing-a-Long.

Lunch, where I joined the residents.

A craft activity – making puppets on trays in the lounges.

A lively puppet activity with all the new home made puppets.

THERE WAS A FANTASTIC ATMOSPHERE
